Ms. Rhonda Hill
I am passionate about the field of education. Knowing that the work I do on a daily basis ensures that teachers are being set up for success to deliver high quality teaching and learning everyday to all students, especially those who are traditionally underserved, is what motivates me to do this work. We all want high achievement for all students. For all kids to reach their true potential. In order to do that, we have to grow and honor the people in front of our children everyday!
In my current role as a Director of School & District Leadership, I work closely with school and district level administrators to help them plan for and execute the implementation of Project Based Learning (PBL) across their systems. I facilitate and engage in deep thinking and work that allows schools and districts to create their own graduate profiles, ambitions for PBL and instructional vision to achieve high quality teaching and learning for all students. Included in this work is thinking about how best to identify, leverage and build teacher capacity to support the sustainable implementation of PBL across classrooms. Prior to my role with PBLWorks, I was an instructional coach and Middle School Special Educator. It’s a “good day at the office” when I get back into school buildings and hear the sounds of happy children in the schools I serve around the country.
There have been several people who have shaped my love for and continued passion for the field of education and professional learning, in particular. Many teachers along the way reinforced my dream of one day having a classroom of my own. Various school and teacher leaders saw a spark in me that each one nurtured in a way that was right for time and place. Finally, a near and dear friend, colleague and mentor of mine, Cris Waldfogel, taught me what it means to be a listening leader and how to lean in and lift up every voice in a room. My passion for leading professional learning had been seeded in years past, but Cris was the sun and rain to help it grow.
